WELCOME TO REGENCY OF ROKAN HULU
Water Recreation. Rokan Kiri river flows through Ujung Batu City. It has got a lot potential for white water activities or activities like adventure and hiking by using boat to the end of the river. We can see the forest throughout the river. Visitors can see all kinds of living things in the one hour journey. There is also waterfall that is called Hujan Lobek at the side of the river. There are also very high waterfall which is Murai river waterfall and Tulang river waterfall.
Pawan Spring is located in Pawan Village about 9 km from Pasirpengaraian. It is easily accessible by car or motorbike. There is a unique Germany trishaw that can bring you to location. This place is well-liked by visitors as there are two hot springs. Both have different temperatures. The spring water channel to the side of the small river which has cold water and it’s very clear. This place is good for the health when enjoying with family. There is also the camping ground at wide area.
Huta Sikafir Cave. It is one hour from Pawan Spring. The forests have huge trees. In this forest area that is 6 hecter, there are 41 big and small caves each with names that describe its features. For example goa landak (porcupine cave) looks like porcupine hole. Some of the beautiful caves are Mata Dewa cave, Lepong cave and Kulam cave. These caves will give visitors a challenging and tiring trip with the tour guide in Huta Sikafir.
Cipogas, Kaiti Dam. Huge rocks with river flowing from Haorpit hills that is steep and rocky was said to be a place for meditating. This area has a legend that we can ask the guardian of the area. Cipogas area and Kaiti dam is accessible by motorbike. It is about 4 km from Pasirpengaraian. Water releases from the dam make it suitable for recreation. You can rent the water cycle. This activity will allow you to see the rock by the river bank from one end of the river to Cipogas river. You can also do rock climbing and there is a competition organized by FPTI.
Bungo River is a village at the foot of Hadiantua hill with a population of 30.000. Their main source of income comes from farming, harvesting crops and forestry. This area is in its original state without any modern influence and is about 1 hour from Cipogas dam. This area is ideal for Ecotourism. It is good for camping, hiking and just being away from mass number of people and good facilities. It provides good adventure.
Serombou Stone House located in Seroumbou village about 12 km from Jalan Propinsi it has a road that can be passed by cars during dry season. There are three rocks shaped like a house with a part protruding like umbrella. The lower part has a hole. There is a rock shaped like animal and also home furniture can be seen quite clear. According to legend a powerful person curse the village that did not follow Islam to be turned to stone. Near to this area is a village that is isolated from modernization. This place is known as Tanjung Botong village.
Rambah Kings Tomb. It is located in Kumu Village about 9 km from Pasirpengaraian and it is about 100 meters from Jalan Propinsi. This used to be the last King of Rambah Complex. There are a few tombs of the famous of kings of Rambah. This area is quite spooky because the tombs have huge trees growing from it.
Seven Layers Fort. After visiting the tombs we are able to travel to area Dalu-dalu, Tambusai district about 23 km from kings of Rambah tombs. This wall made from soil were built by the community during the Dutch occupation based on advise from Tuanku Tambusai on the top of wall there bamboo or thorns. Throughout this area, there are a few walls that are called Kubu (fortress).
Rokan Palace. It is located in Rokan VI Koto Village about 46 km from Pasirpengaraian. Rokan Palace was left behind from the kingdom “Nagarituo” about 200 years ago. The palace and a few houses in that area have a unique collection of carving and the design which is uniquely Malay.
Bukit Suligi National Park has unique flora and fauna that are protected by government. There is a beautiful lake in the park that is used for recreation by the visitors. Apart from recreation this place is also used for biological research. There is also hot spring that is not too big, cave and thick forest for those who one to stay overnight there is a camping ground available.
Tour Kunto Darusallam Mosque is located about 52 km from Pasipengaraian. This old mosque was built in 1937 by R.T. Muhammad Ali and there are 3 tombs religious people who are Tengku Imam, Kalifah Muda, Imam Nawawi. This mosque was used as a centre of “Tarkat Na’syahbandiyah” in the development after ‘Suluk Building’ in the year 1958.
Aek Martua waterfall is situated in the district of Bangun Purba. This waterfall has many steps. It is also known as waterfall with a thousands steps. It can be reached by road about 2/3 from the bottom where Pertapa Cipogas cemetery. The waterfall with it is many steps is truly amazing.***

Bono Tourist Attraction. It is located in Teluk Meranti village through out Kampar river. Bono is natural phenomenon that come about before high tide. Sea water would enter and meet Kampar river water until a huge and fast wave is formed. It produces sound like thunder and strong wind. During the season of high tide the wave of Kampar river can reach 4-6 meters high. This event happen everyday may it be day or night. During this event activities like swimming, fishing, boating and other activities will attract visitors to this area.
Kerumutan Forest Reserve is situated in Kurumutan village, Kerumutan district. This is huge forest is about 93.220 Ha wide. This reserve has animals and trees that are protected like timber, punak, Nipa Palm, Sumatran Tiger, Makam tutul, arwana fish, wild ducks and others.
Agricultural tourism. Kuala Kampar and Teluk Meranti are placed that can be reach by road through the village. This area concentrates on fish and prawn. Apart from agriculture this place is good for buying prawn and fish. Langgam area concentrates on all palm and rubber. It is about 30 minutes from Pangkalan Krinci.
Tidal Forest of Mokoh River. It situated about 15 km from Pangkalan Kerinci, it can be reached by road. In this village we are able to enjoy the clean and fresh air that is far from pollution. In addition we are able to fish and go boating. In this area tourists are able to enjoy magnificent views of the forest throughout the Mokoh river. There is also hot spring in Pangkalan Lesung. Situated 9 km from equator monument or towards Barat Village Pangkalan Lesung, this place can be reached by road about 5 km. The remainder of journey has to follow footpath.

Langgam Village is about 25 km from Pangkalan Kerinci. There is a river that is cold and relaxing especially for fishing. The forest has huge trees that are hundreds of years old. There is a cold atmosphere and visitors can enjoy barbeque fish from their catch.
Tajwid Pond. This pond is located not far from Langgam village, about 10 minutes from Kampar river. It is called Tajwid pond because it is shaped like a letter tajwid like in Arabic alphabet. This pond is owned by the native communities. Every fishing activity in this pond requires a permit from the communities. The catch will be sold by the people. The winner of the auction to manage the pond will have the control over it for a year. For the outside community need not worry as the fishing will be allowed as long as permit is given.
Betung Village. This village is located 56 km from Pangkalan Kerinci. We can go there by road. In this village there is Petallangan Cultural Centre by the river that is used for gathering. In addition there is 40 Ha of wild forest which is a habitat for trees that are hundreds of years old.
Sultan Mahmud Syah I Tomb is located in Pekantua village. Sultan Mahmud Syah I is a last king of Malacca during the confrontation with the Portuguese from the year 1509 until 1526. He together with his army retreat to Pekantua Kampar river. After the war Sultan Mahmud Syah was made King of Pekantua Kampar until he passed away in 1528. He was buried in Pekantua Kampar. His tomb is located in Tolam Village, Bunut district. You can go there by speed boat while visiting this tomb you can also see the old canon tomb of Palalawan Kings and its historical items of Tolam.
Equator Tower. It is situated in Dusun Tua Village, Pangkalan Kuras, as an area situated axactly in the longitude line 00 as the basis of earth border in two parts, the north and south parts or known as the equator line. For tourist visiting this area, don’t you worry, for you not only be able to observe the equator tower, but you can also relax for a while in the existing bungalows / parks for resting (shelter) while relieving your thirst and adding your energy back with the drink of genuine fresh honeycomb unique from Pelalawan. And for your next journey, you can visit the tourism object of ‘hot water / spring’ at Pangkalan Lesung, which you can reach as far as 9 km towards the west from this equator tower.***
WELCOME TO THE REGENCY OF KUNATAN SINGINGI
Batang Koban seven storey waterfall Lubuk Ambacang is located in Hulu Kuantan district about 37 km from Teluk Kuantan. While in Lubuk Jambi Capital of Kuantan Mudik district (22 km from Teluk Kuantan) your bus will move towards Kiliran Jao direction and after Lubuk Jambi city. Towards the left of one of the junction in Kiliran Jao is a place called Terjun Guruh. After the junction of Lubuk Jambi the bus will turn to the right to about 11 km and there you will reach Lubuk Ambacang City District of Hulu Kuantan. By using the motorboat about 4 km, you will pass the pleasant, calm and quiet yet at times choppy waters of river. There is a beautiful view of nature, steep hills and untouched forest. During the journey can see animals like monkeys, various species of birds and other animals that seem to acknowledge visitors. Finally you will reach the waterfall there are about 7 different levels of waterfall until reaches the river and flows down to Kuantan river. It will flow to a large area of the Kuantan Singingi district.
Guruh Gemurai waterfall is located about 25 km from Teluk Kuantan. The name guruh gemurai is taken from the local language where by the word Guruh meaning loud sound and Gemurai mean strong outpouring. Therefore Guruh Gemurai means loud and strong outpour water. Teluk Kuantan is the capital of regency of Kuantan Singingi. By bus going toward Kiliran Jauh, Sumbar you will pass Lubuk Jambi city capital of Kuantan Mudik district, regency of Kuantan Singingi. 3 km before Lubuk Jambi (19 km) from Teluk Kuantan you will enjoy the beautiful “Kebun Nopi” Lake. After which the journey upwards is a lot of turns but the view is a beautiful and is one part of Bukit Barisan. On the half way mark of the hills there is guruh gemurai located in Kasang Village.
Hot Spring across Pinang river Kuantan Mudik district is about 33 km from Teluk Kuantan. From Teluk Kuantan towards Kiliran Jao about 500 meters before Lubuk Jambi you will see a junction to the right. About 11 km there is a historic place that is visited by many people to cure skin problems, rheumatism, and others. There is hot spring a gift from God. At the side of the road there are a few villages that is Binjai island, Pabaun, Siak and then you will reach the location.
Kuantan Singingi Regency Tourist Village is 3 km from Teluk Kuantan from the regency capital you can take the bus to the north towards Rengat. About 3 km you will reach Koto Sentajo village that is designated “Village Tour” In this village you can see historical artifacts or heirloom. There is a traditional house in its original states and unique motifs. The community in this village insists on a normal life style that is handed down from generation to generation. Event though today many community do not practice the traditional way however this community there are certain aspects still continue. Behind this village there is still a forest until today is protected. It is about 500 hectares.
Mosque Lake is located 3 km from Teluk Kuantan. From Teluk Kuantan you can go by bus towards west in the direction of Lubuk Jambi Kiliran Jao. In a few minutes you will reach the junction turn left towards the mosque lake about 300 km. Here you can enjoy the beautiful mosque at the lake and also row your boat and enjoy other facilities.
Logas located in Muara Lembu. Logas whit its remnant of railways and locomotives with damaged condition in the forest is an tourism object already obtaining visitation from tourists from overseas, especially tourists from Japan and Dutch with nostalgia motivation. Besides that, Logas is also known the spot of slavery works and the dumping spot for the captures of Japanese soldiers once occupying Indonesia. The gold mine of Logas was once established during the period of Dutch colonization of the Japanese, this company is taken over by the Japanese until the independence of Indonesia in 1945. Up until now, the local communities still carryout traditional gold mining.***
WELCOME TO REGENCY OF ROKAN HILIR
Jemur Island is located about 45 miles from the capital of Rokan Hilir Regency, Bagan Siapi-api. It is about 45 mile from Malaysia and North Sumatra province is the nearest province from Jemur Island. Jemur Island is one of many islands. Among them is Tekung Emas Island, Tekung Simbang Island, Labuhan Bilik Island and many other small islands. The group of islands that make up Jemur island is shaped like a circle with the centre having a calm sea. During the monsoon season the waves in the Melaka Straits are so big that the fishermen that are fishing near Jemur island have to look for protection at the centre. Jemur island has a very calm sea. When the wave gets smaller then the fisherman will continue their activities again. Jemur island has a beautiful and panoramic view. In addition Jemur island is rich with seafood. There are also turtles that lay its eggs on the beach. This turtles can lay from 100 to 150 eggs each. Another tourist attraction in the Jemur island is Japan cave, light house, human foot prints, skeleton well, relics of Japanese occupation, stone of sea captain, corals and the beach that is gold in color.
Napangga Lake is a lake that it comes in the Tanah Putih district which is 70 km from Ujung Tanjung. It is right on the bank of Batang Kumur Village Tanjung Medan next to Rokan Hulu regency and Nothern Sumatra Province. Napangga lake is about 500 Ha wide and possess a beautiful nature area and calm lake water. Legend has it that this lake was visited by King long time ago and in this lake there are Sumatra Arwana fish which is very expensive. Not far from this area live the Bonai community which is one of the native group that stay on Rokan Hilir. It is very convenient to go to Napangga lake as there is a road all the way there.
Batu Belah Batu Bertangkup is located in Bantaian Village. It is a big rock with the centre being slice half. It shapes exactly like a giant clam that has been fossilized. In Rokan history it is said that this stone was a living animal a kind of clam. After which the Portuguese put a lot of white powder in to its mouth that caused the animal to die. It is said before it died it ate all kinds of animals. This stone also has a legend about the mother who was disappointed with his son behavior. She was so disappointed that she killed herself by allowing herself to be swallowed by the stone.
Tilan Island it is about 20 km from Ujung Tanjung Tanah Putih district. Tilan island is located across Rantau Bais village next to Rokan River. To go to Tilan island we have to use a boat which takes 10 minutes. With its white sand and panoramic view it has huge potential to be a tourist attraction. Tilan island has a beautiful beach along Rokan river.
Bono Rokan River. Bono is a huge wave. It is a combination of sea wave that hit the river while passing Rokan river. Fishermen are afraid of Bono. Any miscalculation would lead to them being victim of Bono but any fear would disappear upon looking at local community playing with Bono with fun and laughter.
Rantau Bais Village is a village that is not affected by foreign culture. It is at its natural state. This village is not far from Pekanbaru-Medan Highway. It has huge potential for its beauty and local culture which is unique and interesting. In this village we can see old houses with Malay Traditional architecture. Rantau Bais village is located apposite of Tiland Island separated by Rokan river. To reach this place is not difficult it is about 10 km from the highway we can reach Rantau Bais. The direction toward Rokan River.***
WELCOME TO REGENCY OF KAMPAR
Muara Takus Temples complex is located in Muara Takus Villages, District of XIII Koto Kampar with a distance of 100 km from Pekanbaru City. Distance between the complex and the village is about 2,4 km, not far from river bank of Kampar Kanan. This complex is surrounded by walls measuring 74 by 74 meters. The outside area has a clay wall measuring 1,5 x 1,5 km that surround the complex until the river bank. In this complex, there are Candi Tua, Candi Bungsu and Maligai Stupa with Palangka. The building is made of sand stones, river stones and bricks. The bricks are made in Pongkai Village, a village located near the complex. The holes that were dug up for the bricks are respected by the locals. They bring the bricks to the shrine by hand to hand. Although this story can not be confirmed but gives a picture that the building of the shrine is through cooperation by the people. Apart from candi tua, candi bungsu, maligai stupa and palangka, in this complex there is also a place for cremation of dead bodies. Outside the complex there are also structure made out of bricks, which are not confirm the type of structures. Complex muara takus is one the historical sites in Riau. This Buddhist temple is evidence that Buddhism at one time developed during past centuries. Historian cannot ascertain when this temple was built. There are however claims that it was built during the 11th century, some say 4th century, 7th century, 9th century etc. But it is clear that the temple was built in the olden days.
Stanum Recreational Park is a recreation place is located in the capital of the regency, about 1 km from the city centre. The place is interesting and strategic as it sets on high hills. It is cool with lush greenery. The area is equipped with many facilities for swimming, praying, conferences, motel stay, restaurant dining, theatre, movies and has an Olympic size pool. The development of the park is done by the cooperation of the Indonesian government and the Singapore Air Force.
Merangin Waterfall is located in Merangin village, Bangkinang Barat District. It is a beautiful area with its waterfall and forest area that was kept untouched and unique flora. This area is great for those keen in eco-tourism and adventure or hiking through the jungle while enjoying the freshness and tranquility of this natural habitat.
Jami Mosque is located in Air Tiris, Kampar District, Kampar Regency. Jamik Mosque is near Air Tiris market, Kampar District. This mosque has unique characteristics as compared to the other mosques in the Riau Province. It was built in 1901. There is tower on the top of the roof which is made of wood without using any nails. Outside of the mosque, is a well. In it is a stone that looks like a head of buffalo on the inside. It is said that the stone shifts from one part to another on its own. The local people believed that that place is sacred. A lot of national and international visitors, especially from Singapore and Malaysia visit to pay their respect and offer prayer to God and take a bath at the wells. Most people come during Ramadhan month (holy month) and Puasa Enam (6th days fasting celebration)
Kandil Gold Museum is located in Belimbing Island, District of Bangkinang, Regency of Kampar. This museum was established on 22th of Mei 1988 right at Belimbing Kuok Island, Bangkinang. This museum is a traditional house (Adat Lima Koto) Kampar which was built around 1990 by Haji Hamid. The museum stores a collection of antiques which has historic value such as ceramics, building tools, agriculture tools, trading stuff, party stuff etc. Part of that stuffs, is an oar made from strong woods from the 18th century, and also there is a compass made from bamboo by the Chinese which has Chinese character written on it. The Kandil Kemilau Emas museum has about 250 collection of antique which were handed down as heirloom.
Syekh Burhanuddin grave is located at district of Kampar Kiri, Regency of Kampar. Syekh Burhanuddin was a person who spread Islam. His grave is located at Kuntu Lipat Kain, Regency of Kampar. Most people came to this this place during the Islamic festive day or during the holy month (Ramadhan Month).
Abdul Ghani Grave. This tourist object is a grave of Syekh Abdul Ghani who is a person who spread Islam and the pioneer of the Islamic school which is known as Pondok Pesantren Darussalam. This grave is located at Kota Tengah Desa Batu Barat, PLTA Kota Panjang area.
PLTA Koto Panjang is located at Merangin village, West Bangkinang, regency of Kampar, it is around 88km from Pekanbaru city. At this PLTA Koto Panjang lake, there is a beautiful view with hills line with various kinds of trees. The area of PLTA Koto Panjang is about 12.900 Ha.

Taman Rekreasi Sikijang was developed through history as a hiding place for couples who elope. It is located in Sikijang Village, Tapung Hilir District. Couples who elope is also a culture until today done by the natives of this area. This area also has natural and beautiful surrounding.
Alahan Waterfall. It is a tourism object in the form of Kampar River having many creeks and waterfalls. The condition of Kampar River is with many creeks with very beautiful waterfalls to be enjoyed and interesting to be traveled trough by using special boats. The location of that tourism object is situated at the upstream of Kampar River, sub district XIII Koto Kampar. The attraction of this tourism object is its beauty as well as freshness of air and attracting tourists especially for tourists having adventurous spirit in admiring the existence of nature. The richness of fauna existing in this tourism object having its relation with the existing habitat, the beauty supported by the existence of unique flora growing in this area, as well as lanscape area still natural in the location of this tourism object becoming very strong attraction.
Buluh Cina Tourism Village. Buluh Cina village situated 25 km from downtown Pekanbaru, is a traditional village still strict in holding on to Malay tradition. It is clear from any form of gambling, alcoholic drinks and illegal drugs. At the end of July every year Pacu Sampan Naga / Dragon Boat Competition is done to get the RI Presidential Trophy. Other participants from various provinces in Indonesia also from various cauntries in ASEAN region participate. This village has still genuine tropical forest as large 1.000 hectares named as hutan wisata Rimbo Tujuh Danau / Seven Lake Jungle tourism forest. In it besides seven beautiful lakes and woods ageing over 300 years, this tourism forest is also the habitat for tens types of tropical floras and faunas, which at other places have already extinct.***
WELCOME TO THE REGENCY OF SIAK
Siak Kingdom Palace Complex. The kingdom of Siak Sri Indrapura was a Malay Islamic kingdom that is the biggest in Riau. It was successful from the 16th century until 20th century. It is said the kings of the Siak kingdom started from 1725 had 12 Sultans that ever ruled. Today as proof of history and strength of the Malay Islamic kingdom in Riau, we can see the kingdom remain in it. Palace complex that was built by Sultan Assyidis Syarif Hasyim Abdul Jalil syafuddin in the year 1889 with the name ASSIRAYATUL HASYIMIAH complete in the kingdom’s furniture. Today the palace is a museum for the collection of the kingdom that is Singgahsana Kingdom chair that is made of gold, duplicate of the kingdom crown, Kingdom chests, royal umbrella, royal spear, and komet which is said to have only two in the world.
Sultan Mosque is about 500 meters in front of Siak Palace. In it is a rostrum that is made from carved wood with motifs of leaves, spirals and flowers. To the west of the mosque is the tomb of Sultan Syarif Kasim together with the queen and his wife. This place is always being visited.
Marhum Buantan Tomb. Sultan Abdul Djalil Rakhmadsyah is the one that expanded the Siak Kingdom. He had a nickname of Little King with his government placed in Buantan. He was strong and determined in defending his father’s honour. He was able to reclaim back his father’s authority in Johor subsequently. He passed away in 1746 and was buried in Buantan. It was later called Marhum Buantan. This tomb can be visited by boat from Sri Indrapura. The journey will be about 15 minutes by speed boat.
Balai Kerapatan Tinggi, located near Siak river in front of the Mempura River Mouth, This building has unique architecture, it has two entrance, one from the river, and one from the road. This building is used for important conferences and meetings. It is also used for king coronation. This building has three set of stairs. One of it is to go to second floor, where meeting is always held. Main staircase faces the river and another one faces east and made of spiraling metal and one more made of woods located in the west. If a crime had happen and has been sentence, the guilty will use the wooden staircase and go down straight to prison located not far. Those who won their case will use the metal staircase and proceed to the road. For now this building is used as a local parliament house of Siak regency.
Water attraction. Pulau Besar located in Zamrud village, district of Siak Sri Indrapura, Siak Regency with a size of 28.000 ha. There is also Naga lake in Apit River. Bawah lake and Pulau Besar lake are located near Zamrud oil field, Siak district. It has a beautiful panaromic view that will fascinate anyone. The lake surrounds the forest whereby many creatures and plants live. This area provides pinang merah, arwana fish, Balido fish and other animals in the wild. Pulau Besar and Bawah lake is rich itself as a marine and water attraction.
River Tourism and Agro Tourism. In Siak district there is also an area along Siak River and Mempura River. To enjoy this river tourism we can use transportation in the form of boats. Along the side of the river we can also watch a line of palm oil trees neatly structured planted, adding to the freshness of its atmosphere when we go trough this area.
Sultan Syarif Hasyim Great Forest Park (Tahura SSH) . It is situated in Minas with distance 20 km towards the north of Pekanbaru and it can be reached in 15 munites from the downtown of the city, going trough winding ground roads with its steep slopes and surrounded by the hillls is a natural forest area flown trough by Takuana River as the border dividing this area. At this spot there are also several elephants already trained in order to be able to entertain the visitors.
Pompa Angguk Monument. Minas is famous for its natural resources which is oil and happens to be one of the best quality oil in the planet. Minas happens to be the first place for oil dredging in Riau. It is no longer in operation as the oil had dried up. Drilling for oil started in 10 December 1944 with a depth of 800m. Today the pompa is used as a historical monument of oil industry in Riau Province. It stands tall and proud.
Kototinggi Tomb Complex. To the east of Siak palace stands the tomb of kings of Siak like Sultan Syarif Hasyim and his father and other members of the royal family. This complex measures 15 x 15 sq m. The tombstone is carved with unique and complicated design and is made of wood and marble. Near to the tomb are the cemeteries of warriors (Siak Bahagia Park).
Dutch Colonial Building. In Benteng Hulu there are buildings or structures left by the Dutch during its occupation. There are homes and offices that have withstood time and requires good care. There is also a military building that is being preserved and refurbished as close as its original condition as possible.
Kato Ship. It is a metal ship owned by Siak Sultan and he often came aboard of it when visiting other districts under him. This ship is 12 meters long weighs 15 tons and is located at Siak River banks. It is a significant monument and will always remind of its history.***

Bukit Tigapuluh National Park. This national park is about 144,223 Ha big. With ecosystem of the low land tropical rainforest, this area is a shift from the swampy forest to the mountainous forest. There is a unique ecosystem that is different from the other national park in Indonesia. Bukit Tigapuluh hilly areas are spread out from Bukit Barisan located at the border of Jambi and Riau Province. This area is also a catchment area and has small rivers and also big rivers throughout the area. There are a few types of animals found in this national park. Among them are Sumatra Tigers, honey bear, tapir, monkey, dears, wild boar, birds and other wild animals. Muka Rimau Mushroom is also endemic in this area. Apart from being a habitats for various flora and fauna and also being protected, this area is also a place whereby various community of people that are isolated. For example like Talang Mamak, Anak Rimba, and Melayu Tua. This is definitely interesting place to visit.
Talang Mamak indigenous people. One of the indigenous group that is still surviving and growing is the Talang Mamak indigenous people. There are homes in the district of Seberida and Pasir Penyu with relatively small population. They survive from what the forest can offer. They also catch fish. They have strong beliefs and are very traditional. Some of the objects that can be seen are Baju Bersyahadat, Perantas sword, symbol of strength of the indigenous people in the Talang Durian Cacar district. The Talang Mamak indigenous cemetery has tomb stone made of wood and arranged in the shape of a roof. There is huge tourist potential for its culture in Sibarida district and Kelayang district that has yet to expand.
Raja Lake. This area is used as a centre for Malay art of Indragiri and also an entertainment place for the community. There is also a competition of Miss and Mr. Indragiri that is held every year. There is also traditional sport of kayak race (Pacu Sampan). This place is located in the Rengat district and potential to expand is there. In addition there is also the Menduyan lake in Kota Lama village and Hulu Lake in Danau Baru Village.
Menduyan Lake. It is one of interesting tourism objects visited to relax and for picnic with families, by reason of its natural scenery beauty. This location of this lake is still in one area with the Cultural Preservation Site, Indragiri Kings Graveyard Compound, to be exact in Koto Lama area, situated 17 km from Rengat city.
Waterfall. There are beautiful waterfalls available in a few districts. For example Sungai Arang waterfall in Arang Village, Puntianai waterfall in Puntianai Village, Penjangki waterfall in Penjangki village, Nunusan waterfall in Sanglep, Siamang waterfall, Buyung, Pintu Tujuh and Tembulun in Rantau Langsat village and lastly Bukit Lancang waterfall in Tualang Lakat village.
Situs Cagar Budaya. It is a complex for Kings tomb that are located in various places. There are cemeteries for the descendents of the king of Indragiri/Mohom Saleh in Tambak, Cemetery for King Indragiri/Narasinga II in Kota Lama village, Japura King tomb and Datuk Bendahara idah Hitam tomb in Japura village and also princes tomb in Peranap.
High House is located in Rengat district. This house from this kingdom was left by the Indragiri kingdom located in Rengat, capital of Indragiri Hulu regency. Today it looks ordinary and the collection left behind from this kingdom is found there.
Putri Junjung Buih Park. It is situated in Rengat city. Its location is easily reaced because it exactly situated on the side of highway in one of the corners in Rengat city. In this park visitors can relax enjoying the beautiful natural scenery, while the kids can play as much as they can in the park neatly structured, clean and artistic.***

Solop Beach Cawan Island. Solop beach is one of beaches that are available in the regency of Indragiri Hilir. It is a unique village to visit. In this village there are muddy areas with white sand made from skins of cockerels that was washed to the beach by the wave. Solop beach is so beautiful and its location is strategic in between Tembilahan-Batam Island. The Solop beach beauty is also due to the small island in front of the beach and here you can see wonderful view of sunset. This serves as an added beauty and attraction.
Flower Hills is located to the south of Batu Ampar village, Kemuning district. It is about 4k from Selensen village, capital of Kemuning district. You can visit this place by walking the hilly areas crossing to small rivers. Throughout the bank of Flower Hills grow all kinds of flowers that cover the hill with many colours and aroma.
Waterfall is located to the north of Batu Ampar village. To reach waterfall location you have to go through Jalan Lintas Timur using car and then continue by walking through hills which is about 2 km. The waterfall is about 50 meters high which 30 degrees steepness. Next to the waterfall you can see rocks that shaped like steps that can help you to climb up. The river is about 1, 5 meter deep.
Bird Island. Bird Island is also known as Canal island. There are a few canals available for visitors to travel. These canals surrounds plantation of hybrid coconuts, local coconuts, oil palm, pineapple and flowers and addition with fish and prawn farm.
Taga Raja Guntung Lake. This lake is 100 Ha big. According to legend it is called King Pond. It is used as a place to take a bath and source of clean water for Kateman Kingdom. The lake area will expand as reservoir for clean water and tourist destination by 20 Ha. It will develop into a recreation park, fishing area, tirta tour and resort. This lake is quite close to Guntung city about 4 km and visited by many people as a place for recreation and natural tours.
Pekan Arba area is an area designated as a recreation place for the community of Tembilahan city because of its location near to Tembilahan. Over the years there is erosion in Batang Sebatu river making it difficult for transportation between Pekan Arba and the villagers across. Because of this the community made boats with shapes flatter on the bottom and can travel through the muddy beach on the sallow water. Today it is become the transportation in this area. This activity has become tourist attraction every year. In this location there are also facilities like gate, guard post, open tourist centre, public toilet, parking lots and others.
Tuan Guru Syech Abdurrachman Sidiq Tomb Complex is in Hidayat Sapat, Kuala Indragiri district. This is a historical tourist destination can be found in regency of Indragiri Hilir. Tuan Guru used to be an Islamic teacher that is famous and has many students from Malaysia, Singapore, Kalimantan, Jambi, Palembang and others. Tuan Guru passed away on 10th of March 1939. Until today there are many visitors even from Malaysia. There are about 300 visitors everyday. This complex also has a mosque that was built in 19 century and resting house. Other tourist attraction include tomb and Panglima Besar Tengku Sulung, wall, Keramat tomb in Kotabaru, yellow house, left by the Dutch and others.
Free Market This market for secondhand clothes is known as Pasar PJ in Tembilahan city. It is famous and visited by many tourists. In this market there are many secondhand products from overseas. Apart from clothes there are also other products like household goods, toys, electronics, and other things. In Tembilahan there is also Wadai Market, this is a market that sells all kinds of cakes from traditional like amparan tatak, papare, keraraban, kue Malacca fruit and food and dishes like sempolek, roti canai, jelurai, nasi kuning, nasi lemak and others. This market is held during Ramadhan.
Api Panjang Hills. The location of Api Panjang Hills is reached by speedboat for 15 minutes from the capital city of Bird Island, sub-district trough dense mangrove forest, then continued on foot as far as 1,5 km trough coconut fields no longer used. Its natural condition is very challenging for you who loves adventures.
Waterfall 86 has the height of 50 meters, its named waterfall 86 because its location is situated in kilomenter 86 in the highway of East Sumatra Line. This tourism object can be reached by travelling as far as 14 km trough ground path by riding motorbikes or jeeps. In Selensen Village, there is a shelter with its beautiful surrounding scenery in the form of Malay traditional house, which is also referred to as Pesanggrahan / Bungalow.
Menongkah Kerang is an attraction of sea tribe culture, and it is remarkable scenery to watch them collectively and agilely using a piece of board sliding on mud surface while collecting fresh muscles part of its to be eaten and another part to be sold in the market. Pesanggrahan Putri Tujuh ( seven Princesses tomb ) is located in Partamina UPII Dumai factory operation area. Normally a tomb has only one person. The seven princesses tomb (putri tujuh) has seven princesses in it. According to the legend of Dumai, seven princesses were buried together when the enemy was attacking. The Queen hide the seven princesses in a hole. The hole was covered and soil was put on it. Without the Queen realization the seven princesses were buried alive. That is why the seven princesses were placed in one tomb.
Makmur Bay is located to the north of Dumai City. It has natural persona in the form of the beach and Malay village that is directly apposite to Pulau Rupat (Rupat Island) and Malacca straits. WELCOME TO PEKANBARU CITY
Great Mosque and Marhum Bukit Tomb including Marhum Pekan Tomb. Great Mosque in Pekanbaru is located in the Senapelan area. It has attractive traditional architecture and is also the oldest mosque in Pekanbaru city. This mosque was built in the 18th century and is evidence of the existence of the Siak Kingdom in the city during the reign of Sultan Abdul Jalil Muazzam Syah and Sultan Muhammad Ali Abdul Jalil Muazzam Syah as the fourth and fifth sultan from the Siak Sri Indrapura Kingdom. In the mosque complex we are able to visit the tomb of Sultan Marhum Bukit and Marhum Pekan who is the builders of the city of Pekanbaru. Marhum Bukit is Sultan Abdul Jalil Alamuddin Syah (the fourth sultan of Siak) who reigns from 1766-1780. In the year 1775 Marhum Bukit changed the capital city from Mempura Siak to Senapelan and he passed away in 1780.
Riau Cultural Centre is located in Jalan Diponegoro Pekanbaru. Built and decorated with a variety of colours and motif carvings which is unique to the Malays. Cultural centre was built for a variety of activities that are associated to the traditional culture of the Malays in Riau. It is a two storey building. In the top floor it clearly exhibits the traditions and history of Gurindam Dua Belas written by Raja Ali Haji. On the right and left of the main entrance we are able to read the chapters 1-4 whereas chapters 5-12 is placed on the inner wall of the main hall.
Danau Buatan Lembah Sari Recreational Park is located in the constituency of Rumbai, Pekanbaru. Limbungan is a man-made lake used for irrigation and is located 10 km from Pekanbaru. It offers natural view of beauty, breezy, tranquility and hills covered with plants and trees. Alam Mayang recreational park is located in Jalan H. Tanjung Pinang
Tanjung Pinang is a busy town on Bintan Island, now as a capital of Riau Archipelago. It has a Museum on Jl. Katamso. A large section of the old part of the town was built in traditional local fashion, on stilts, over the water. Tanjung Pinang City is located at about 10 km from the airport. This town also has 2 ports, Sri Bintan Pura in Tanjung Pinang and Sri Bayintan in Kijang. Tanjung Pinang Serves flight to Pekanbaru and Natuna.
Batu Bedaun Beach
Batu Bedaun Beach is very famous among the teenagers in Dabo Singkep. The beach situated 20 km from Dabo. This white sandy beach is very clean, with blue sea and small wave.
Daik
Daik is a small town but has many historical relics of Riau Lingga kingdom as in the Penyengat Island. We can reach the town by speedboats from Tanjung Pinang. In Lingga Island there are also many variation of tropical plantation and marine water fish species that cannot be found in other pla¬ces. Other interesting objects is Mount Daik with 3 peaks.
Senayang Island
Senayang Island. Boat cruising touring the waters between the islands is among potential attractions. Some real and thrilling adventures are available since there are many islands surrounding Senayang and excellent packages include cycling, bush wacking, swimming, snorkeling and diving.
Tambelan Island
Tambelan Island is about 200 km away from Tanjungpinang. There are only six villages, which are spread over a few islands, with a total population of about 4,000. As is to be expected, the environment here is largely unspoilt, and the scenery is truly magnificent. One of the most interesting of natural attraction in this island is watching turtles laying their eggs in great number that protected by local peoples.
Bintan Island
Bintan Island. International investors have developed many new hotels, integrated world-class resorts, international golf courses on the island of Bintan. Other deve¬lopments include industrial parks, medical, commercial and banking facilities that are readily available to any visitors. During your visit to Riau Archipelago will not be bored or uninspired because there are many other interesting places like Pasar Ikan (Fish Market) where fresh, cheap seafood and ve¬getables are sold. There are also the Akau (Night Market), Pelantar (Water Villages) and shops selling local handicraft, natural attraction like watching the turtles laying their eggs or fishing on the Kelong.
Trikora Beach
Trikora Beach is about 40 kilometers south of Tanjung Pinang on the eastern side of the island. Good beaches are also found on the islands of Terkulai and Soreh, about an hour away by boat.
Natuna Archipelago
Natuna Archipelago is a part of the vast province, which embraces all of the islands off the Riau mainland. The main island clusters of the Natuna archipelago are: Anambas, Natuna, South Natuna and Tambelan. Matak Island at present serves as a base for offshore oil exploration. Colourful co¬rals and reef fish are found in the waters surrounding these islands. South Natuna comprises the islands Serasan, Panjang and Subi. The surf is strong on these islands and the scenery impressive. The Tambelan Islands are accessed by boat in 6 hours from Pontianak in West Kalimantan or from Tanjung Pinang in 16 hours. Turtles habitually come to some of the beaches to depo¬sit their eggs in the warm sand. There are probably more turtles than people on these islands. Natuna is located in area of South China Sea with the geographical location passed by international shipping and coast lines. Natuna’s Ranai airport has length of 2,550 metres and Matak airport with length basis of 1,700 metres. Natuna’s seaport are Lampa (100 x 10 sqm) and Penagih (50 x 8 sqm).
Karimun Island
Karimun Island is one of the most important islands in the Riau Archipelago, due to its thriving economy and proximity to Singa¬pore. Tanjungbalai Karimun is a medium-sized town, with a large Chinese community and shops selling a large variety of imported items. Lies in a shipping line in Malacca Strait and Singapore, Karimun gateway can be passed by international ferry from and to Malaysia and Singapore.
Sea Gardens
Sea Gardens with beautiful corals and fish are found in the waters around the islands of Mapor, Abang, Pompong, Ba¬lang and Tanjung Berkait.
Batam Island
Batam Island is a very strategic island designated as a center of industry, tourism and trade. It lies close to Singapore. The Nongsa recreational region has international hotels, four golf courses, a marina sports facility and a forest reserve. Batam can be reached in two hours from Tanjung Pinang by ferry and in about half an hour from Singapore.
Pulau Penyengat
Pulau Penyengat (Stinging Island) When people found on the first time, Penyengat Island was an island with many stinging bees it is six kilometers from Tanjung Pinang, can be reached in 15 minutes by boat. The seat of the powerful Bugis viceroys of Riau during the 18th century, Penyengat still bears the traces of its illustrious past. Ruins, abandoned for almost 70 years, were recently restored. The old ruler’s palace and royal tombs are among the legacies left by the Riau sultanate. Still in use is the old viceroyal mosque, the Mesjid Raya, there is also a newly built cultural center for stage performances of Malay music and dances.
